An invitation grants exactly the workspace role stored with it, to exactly the address it was issued for. It never grants a platform role.

Workspace administration begins with a workspace. Nothing has been created on your behalf.
Open the workspace overview to create the first one deliberately, or accept an invitation you were sent.
